Writes: My main passion is writing for children and young adults but I’ve also written general short stories and a smattering of poetry along with writing fan scripts of my favourite books.
Published work: Heritage Railway Newsletter which I edit and write for, but nothing in my prefered genres or paid.
Current Projects: ‘Amorak: The Spirit of the Wolf’ a young adult novel that I wrote as part of the National Novel Writing Month Challenge to write 50,000 words in 30 days. It is in serious need of a rewrite now that I understand what story I’m trying to tell.
Likes: Fiction – Children’s, Young Adult, Fantasy, General Modern and Classics. Non-Fiction: Nature, Gardening, Writing, Computers/Webdesign, Animation and Drawing.
Dislikes: Can’t think of anything in particular but I’m not really into romance as a genre (though as a sub plot, or in general fiction where it isn’t the only thing happening, its ok)
Favourite Authors: J. K. Rowling, Philip Pullman, J. R. R. Tolkien, Diana Wynne Jones, Eoin Colfer, Garth Nix, Jonathan Stroud, Eva Ibbotson, Peter Dickinson, Kate Thompson (author of The New Policeman – there are two writers of this name), William Nicholson, Frances Hardinge, Cornelia Funke, Jenny Nimmo, Michelle Paver and loads more.
I also enjoy: Tinkering with websites, illustration, growing veg, digital art, crafts, nature, photography and playing with my border collie.
